KATIE BRACCO
Katie Bracco
My dream is to make a living to support myself while pursuing my dream of performing and connecting with people through immersive storytelling. Fulfillment for me is the ability to learn and grow my craft, to relate to my audience by living in each role I take on, and having the creative freedom to take risks in my art.
My name is Katie Bracco, I’m an actress and aspiring playwright/director from South Lyon Michigan, working out of Metro-Detroit.

Life On-Stage //
In every aspect of my life, I’ve found the spotlight and created a stage. During covid19 quarantines, I went straight from rehearsing my middle school musical to finding “zoom-sicals” and writing original scripts with my friends on a shared google-doc to film with green screens and post to our social media. When I learned I could get paid to run around with fake blood and scream at a haunted house, I created a whole backstory for my character and acted out a little scene with every customer. Through school and community theater I’ve had to privilege in acting in over 25 theatrical productions, and now, in my current job as a contracted character performer, I get to see the impact the immersion of a story has on the people who believe, and it’s incredibly rewarding.
Off the stage, I’m very passionate about activism for social causes, mental health awareness, drawing, music, nature, and giving back through volunteer work. Every summer growing up, I was given an amazing environment to be myself unapologetically and really connect with nature and friendship at Camp Newaygo. I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to volunteer there as a “Leader in Training” last summer, and will continue to give back through programming and counseling whenever I can. I’ve participated in other clubs outside of theatre, volunteering through NHS, roleplaying business-law and ethics in DECA, and starting my own playwriting club called Encore Club, where we create original productions for more theater opportunities. I credit my family, friends, mentors, and these experiences for giving me valuable skills to thrive in this career.
